Who can access telehealth?
If you are an existing patient, you may access telehealth services instead of coming into my clinic in person. This means we will need to see each other for an initial consultation in person first. This ensures I have been able to do preliminary assessments and all other work necessary to provide the very best care possible.
How does it work?
We set up a private consultation over phone or video call. To do that, simply choose a time from my calendar. You will only need to enter your basic details so that I can find you in our system. At the scheduled time, I will call you via your preferred method.
Please ensure that you have any necessary medical information you wish to discuss on hand.
Please also ensure that you are situated in a quiet, private room. If you are choosing to use video call, it is a good idea to test your camera and sound prior to our appointment.
If you are experiencing problems with video, our appointment can always be transferred to a phone call.
Is telehealth covered by Medicare?
Yes, telehealth is considered a primary health service and so I can bill your appointment through Medicare.
There will be a gap fee payable for most patients unless your consultations form part of your surgical follow-up care.
Is it covered by private health, DVA or NDIS?
Yes, your appointment is also covered in the same way you would be in person via your private health cover, DVA gold card, or NDIS.
